Ecclesia Choir

Ecclesia Choir This is the principal choral group of mixed voices which sings 3 out of 4 Sundays of the month. Music readers of any age are invited to join us as we sing the many styles of music including those from the classics, gospel, spiritual and on to the contemporary.  Compositions by Bach, Faure, Rutter, Fetke and many current composers are featured in anthems, and responses relating to the themes of the services.

Concerts are occasionally given and once a year the men appear as a choir and also the women are featured as a women’s choir.

Ecclesia choir also co-ordinates with the other performing groups in the church for special occasions. Rehearsals are every Thursday at 7:30 pm. Choir Director, Robert Lynn

Taizé Choir

Taizé Choir – This is a choir for busy adults who love to sing, and want to contribute to the worship experience, but are unable to commit to weekly rehearsals. The Taizé choir sings once a month in worship and rehearses approximately two times per month on Thursday evenings from 6:30-7:30. This choir sings a variety of styles of music, including songs from the Iona and Taizé Communities, spirituals and folk songs that often have themes of peace and justice. They enjoy four-part harmony, especially done a cappella. The Taizé Choir chooses music that enhances the theme of worship, often singing choral introits, calls to prayer or prayer responses or choral benedictions.  Contact director, Debbie Chinworth, at dchinworth@gmail.com (or by phone at 982-4881) if you want to find out more about the Taizé Choir.
