Joys and Concerns
Please keep these concerns in your minds and hearts in the coming days.

Within our church family:
Those Deacons we hold in prayer this week: Amy Shively, Elizabeth Waas Smith, Jeannie Trachsel, Dorothy Weldy and April White.
We pray for those who were unable to worship with us due to their current health limitations, including: Jane Cassell, Barbara Smith, Eunice Brightbill and Beth Stone.
The family of Julia Metzger on her death Sunday, June 19, afternoon. Service arrangements are pending.
Mike Brown who is now home. The medical tests revealed further complications, which will prohibit the stem cell transplant. Hospice options are being considered.

Within the wider community:
Our sister church in El Salvador, Emanuel Baptist. We pray for Esther Acosto Avalos as she leads special delegations from the United States. We pray also for the delegations as they learn and work in El Salvador during June and July. Prayers for Sarah Hall who will translate and help with the orientation of these groups.
         We pray for peace.

Thank you from the Bendsen Family
Thank you so much for the many kind words of sympathy, hugs, calls and cards showered on us upon the death of my mother, Geneva Semans of Ashland, Ohio. And a BIG thank you to the garden gnome who mowed our yard, whoever you are!
Sandy (Semans) Bendsen and family

Summer Food Service Program
The program is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and administered by the Indiana Department of Education. This is a safe, fun way for children to get nutritious meals when school is not in session. Contact Becky Landis, Food Service Manager, 982-7518

Keep the phones and cartridges coming
Bring your empty inkjet printer cartridges and old phones anytime to the church and place them in the basket by the pie safe in the vestibule. The High School Youth will box them up and ship them off to be recycled. This is an ongoing fundraiser for the youth, and since it's inception they have raised over $600. There is also a receptacle in the Hub at Timbercrest,

Wabash County Juvenile Mentoring Program
Contact the Youth Services Bureau (260-563-7727) or Rick Tolley (260-571-2448) to schedule an appointment and get the process started if you are interested in mentoring local youth, if you have questions about the program or if you simply wish to support this program that does not receive any government funding.

Wednesday at Warvel
This summer Eel River Community Church of the Brethren is adding a weekly worship service on Wednesday evenings at Warvel Park.  The Wednesday night services will begin at 5:30pm with a potluck and fellowship, followed by a “nontraditional” worship in the pavilion nearest to the Scout Hall. Everyone is encouraged to bring his or her own plate, utensils, and beverage, plus a dish to share. These services begin at 5:30 pm each Wednesday evening for the months of June, July, and August.  Invite a friend or two and meet us at the park, rain or shine!

Dear Church Family,
Come and join us for our last evening of VBS “MarketPlace 29 A.D.” Wednesday, June 22, from 7 to 7:45 p.m. You are welcome to travel back through time and awaken all of your senses as you wander through the “MarketPlace” tent or as you visit the “Village Critters” or follow the children in their evening rotation.
At 7:45 we will transition to the south lawn. Please bring a blanket or lawn chair (and some mosquito spray) to complete the VBS experience at our brief Closing Program, which begins at 8 pm. You are also invited to participate in our VBS Outreach Project (Local Food Pantry) either by bringing non-perishable items to “Fill our Food-Cart” or through our offering collection.

Ride your BIKE to Church Sunday
Sunday, June 26, the church family as a whole is invited to ride their bikes to church! There will be a designated area on the east side of the building to park bikes with supervision provided during worship. Children, preschool through fifth grade, will be participating in a “Bike Safety Program” during the Sunday School hour. We will have an alternate plan for Children’s Sunday School in case of rain.

Containers for Left-Overs Needed
Cleaning out your cupboards this summer? The Funeral Dinner Committee needs plastic tubs with tight lids to use for sending left-overs with families. They can be put in the cupboard above the hand-washing sink in the kitchen. Also, please pick up your dishes on the table by the stove. Thanks very much to everyone for your help in providing food and containers! This ministry is much appreciated.

June edition of "Brethren Voices"
An interview with Annual Conference Moderator Robert Alley is featured in the June edition of "Brethren Voices" now available in the church library. The community television program is 28 minutes long and ideal for a Sunday School class or discussion group.
Robert states that he is a native of Virginia and that he has served nearly 40 years of full time pastoral ministry with 20 of those years being at the Bridgewater church of the Brethren. In this edition of "Brethren Voices" Robert Alley shares with host Brent Carlson about his experiences and thoughts as Moderator and discusses the business items that will be discussed at Grand Rapids, MI July 2-6.
