Joys and Concerns
Please keep these concerns in your minds and hearts in the coming days:
Within our church family:
• We hold these Deacons in prayer this week: Francis Barr, Liz Hoffman Bauer, Ann Beattie, Angilee Beery, Stan Beery and Joan Fahs.
• We pray for those who were unable to worship with us last Sunday due to their current health limitations, including: Kathryn Becker, Betty Campbell, Helen Hollenberg and Evan Kinsley.
• We pray for those gathered at Annual Con-ference in Grand Rapids this week. May they know the compassion and gentleness of God’s spirit. We pray also for Derek Self as he sings during the closing worship service on Wednes-day morning.
• Beth Stone who was admitted to KCH Wednesday, June 29.
- The family of Don Stone on his death July 5. Visitation will be July 8 at 9:00 a.m. in the Narthex, followed by the funeral at 11:00 in the sanctuary.
Within the wider community:
• Our sister church in El Salvador, Emanuel Baptist. We pray for Oscar Rodriguez and his administrative team who provide vision and skilled guidance to nearly 50 communities in central and eastern El Salvador.
• For the family of Loren Bowman, who died June 17; services were held on June 24 in La Verne, CA. Loren held a variety of pastoral and denominational staff positions, including general secretary of the Church of the Brethren.
• We continue our prayers for peace.
Marie Frantz will celebrate 100 years!
Dean & Marie Frantz have moved to The Cedars: 14409 Sunrise Court, Leo, IN 46765 (260.627.8038) and will celebrate Marie’s birthday on August 7 with her family. Cards would be appreciated. Since her vision is very low, please consider sending an “audio card.”
Many Thanks
We appreciate the photos shared by VBS parents who allowed them to be posted on our web-site’s picture rotation section.

Circles of Trust Groups forming again this fall
This fall will mark the fourth year that groups will gather for a time of personal discernment and spiritual formation through a process known as “Circles of Trust.”
Developed by Parker Palmer, these groups seek to assist persons in their spiritual journey through the use of silence, readings, scripture, individual and small-group reflection.
“IMAGINE: Being a part of a group that allows you to be yourself, no exceptions, no expectations, no requirements other than to just ‘be’ a part of the group, being welcomed with open arms and warm hearts, being accepted just as you are, being hugged emotionally for two solid hours, being spiritually fed. You help pick the menu and eat as much as you want, being listened to as never before in your lifetime. These are my experiences in a Circle of Trust.” Steve Cripe
If you wish to be involved in a circle this fall, contact Jim Chinworth.
