Joys and Concerns
There are many ways in which our lives intersect with one another. Please keep these concerns in your minds and hearts in the coming days.

Within our church family:
We pray for those who were unable to worship with us due to their current health limitations, including: Helen Evans, Margie Petry, Gene Snyder and Louise Miller.
Ernie Barr hospitalized at Parkview, Cardiac Intensive Care.
         Howard Domer hospitalized at Lutheran.
Esther Rupel recovering at home following a surgical procedure on Thursday, January 20.
         Jean Stone, hospitalized at Lutheran.
Bonnie Merritt recovering at home followingsurgery this past Wednesday, Jan. 19.
Gordon Bucher recovering at home following a recent hospitalization due to a mild heart attack.

Within the wider community:
Miriam Cable, recovering in Wabash Skilled Care following fall in her room.
Our sister church in El Salvador, Emanuel Baptist. We pray for Lidia Castro Mendez as she evaluates the needs of young women and allocates scholarships for their education.
The family and friends of Kaylin Doggendorff. Today begins the trial of the young man accused of her murder. We pray each person can know the comfort and support of God’s presence through these difficult days.
         We pray for peace.

Many Thanks

PEACE AND JUSTICE CORNER
Conflict in Palestine/Israel has taken center state in recent months and the situation for many Palestinians living in the West Bank remains grave. Road closures, home invasions, checkpoints and the presence of militant Israeli settlers in Palestinian villages continue to threaten Palestinian political and human rights. Israel's separation barrier (much of it built on confiscated Palestinian land) not only separates Palestinian communities from each other, but acts as a barrier between ordinary Israelis and Palestinians seeking to come together for peace.

Christian Peacemaker Teams is sponsoring four delegations in 2011 to Palestine and Israel. Delegations members will gain a perspective on how these issues affect daily life and they will meet with Palestinian and Israeli human rights representatives and peace workers. They will also visit Palestinian families whose homes and livelihoods are threatened by expanding Israeli settlements and will experience first hand CPT's work alongside Israeli and Palestinian partners.

The delegations will be going March 8-21, May 24-June 6, July 19-August 1, and November 15-28, 2011. If you would like to explore the possibility of participating in one of these life-changing experiences contact: Christian Peacemaker Teams, P.O. Box 6508, Chicago, ILL 60680 Tel: 773-376-0550 or peacemakers@cpt.org
