Joys and Concerns
Please keep these concerns in your minds and hearts in the coming days.
Within our church family:
• We celebrate with Jody & Megan Sarber on the birth of their daughter, Emersyn Elizabeth, on April 23. Everyone is doing well.
• Those Deacons we hold in prayer this week: Susie Klingler, Bea Knarr, David Kreps, Richard Livingston, Mary Lutz and Virginia Manges.
• We pray for those who were unable to worship with us due to their current health limitations, including: Jane Cassell, Barbara Smith and Eunice Brightbill.
• Steve Cripe on the death of his mother, Hilda Holtzinger, Sunday, April 17. Hilda’s memorial service will be Saturday, April 30.
• Dorotha Fry Mason at the death of her sister, Mary Elizabeth Young. Mary Elizabeth died April 17 and the memorial service was April 23.
• The family of Marg Dilling. Marg died Tuesday, April 19. The memorial service is Friday, April 29, at 10:30 am in the Timbercrest Chapel with visitation at 9 am.
• Anita Sautter recovering from her recent surgery.
• JoAnn Mock at home following a recent hospitalization for tests.
Within the wider community:
• Our sister church in El Salvador, Emanuel Baptist. We pray for those who were baptized and for those who renewed their faith in worship on Easter.
• We pray for peace.
Climb to new heights!
Help is requested at Camp for the Saturday after Easter – to put bottom trim pieces on trusses in the dining hall of the John Kline Welcome Center. Workers must be willing to work on heights. The work must be done on Saturdays when contractors are not here.
Please call and let us know if you are available to help. 574-658-4831 Thanks so much.

Summer Garden Space
Did you ever want to grow your own vegetables but never had enough space to put in a garden? This summer garden space will be available to church family members on the west side of the church property. The soil will be tilled for you; all you need to do is supply seeds or plants, hoe the weeds, and reap the harvest. For more details, contact either Joel Eichenauer (982-1509) or Dave Kreps (982-8251). We need to know how many people are interested in becoming vegetable gardeners this summer before plans can be finalized.
Renew Your Messenger!
On Sunday, May 1, you will once again find helpful people at a table in the Narthex willing to sign you up for another year ($14.50) or two ($27). Messenger renewals need to be kept separate from your regular contributions, since the renewals are not tax deductible.

College Student Suppers
Almost every Sunday evening at 5:30 we serve 20 to 40 hungry kids! Call Loyce if you can help with this ministry.
CROP Walk
Our annual CROP Walk supports Church World Service in its worldwide efforts to relieve hunger and poverty. Simply put, one in seven people doesn’t get enough to eat – and as many as half of them are children. Hunger is increasing dramatically in many parts of the world, but there are solutions. Working together, we can build a world where there is enough for all. Sign up now for the CROP Hunger Walk on Sunday, May 15. We will begin in Warvel Park at 2 p.m. with long and short routes available. Donation forms are available in the narthex following worship or call Kay Batdorf at 982-8789.
MarketPlace 29 A.D. June 19 – 22
Kids aren’t the only ones we need at VBS! Adults & youth can sign up on the poster in the Narthex. Remember, this is a special opportunity for people of all generations to participate…as a vendor (assistant) in the MarketPlace or as a ‘village wanderer’ or as a tribal parent (assistant) or even as our ‘synagogue rabbi!’ We always need a VBS music leader (assistant) and recreation leader (assistant) and Bible Story Tellers. Maybe you’d rather help with food prep or childcare? You’re welcome to contact Laura Gable with any questions, suggestions, and how you’d like to be a part of this awesome experience!
If we don’t hear from you first, you may be hearing from us! Feel free to contact any of the VBS directors: Laura Gable (578-0378), Jennifer Reichenbach or Kim Reinoehl.
